RO DBT is an evidence-based treatment for patients with emotional over-control. ‘Self-control’ is usually seen as a good thing, however too much self-control can cause difficulties. Excessive self-control is associated with social isolation and poor interpersonal relations and it contributes to conditions like anorexia nervosa, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, chronic depression and autistic spectrum disorders.
Dr Karen LI runs the RO DBT course across 4 modules which can be completed in any order. You will get the best experience attending a live class, but this online guided self-paced option is for those who can’t make the live classes.
What does guided self-paced mean?
Guided self-paced means that you can do lessons in the course at any time and once a week, Dr Karen Li will provide individualised feedback to you.
In Module B, we look at understanding why overcontrolled coping happens and how to choose to live more by our values than these overcontrolled ways of coping.
